Tuesdays 6 pm staring July 4: Free Fitness Classes

Back by popular demand, this year’s Free Fitness Classes include Yoga, Boot Camp and Nia Dance. Hosted by the St Lawrence Market Neighbourhood BIA. the Friends of St. James Park with help from Place Made, anyone can join one or all three classes: 1) Nia Dance for 3 weeks starting July 4th with Martha Randall, 2) Yoga for 3 weeks starting July 25th with Robert Hartley, and 3) Boot Camp for 3 weeks starting August 15th with Rolin McQuade. Meet at the pavilion! Come a bit early to sign your waiver.

This summer’s line up of FREE music Thursday nights in St. James Park sees the return of some of last summer’s favourites and some new talent too! Check the flyer below for this summer’s line up. Presented by the St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood BIA.



Wednesdays at 7 pm: Park Chat Series

We are excited to announce that we will be running the free Park Chat series again this summer.

Wed, July 26, 7 pm: First up is a discussion about the trees in St. James Park with Mark Sherman, Arborists and Natural Environment Specialists with the City of Toronto.

Wed, Aug 16, 7 pm: We are offering a first time ever tour of the formal garden with Tim Edwards—come learn about some of the perennials in the garden, history of the garden and the characteristics of a Victorian era garden.

Wed, Aug 23, 7 pm: Join us for  “Love Stories of St. James”, a romantic companion to the grisly tour we did last year with historian Adam Bunch.


Fri, Sat and Sun in August: Bard in the Park

Bard in the Park is back in St. James Park throughout the month of August. This year’s production by Dauntless City Theatre can be described as a mish mash of favourite Shakespeare scenes, but best to check out the detailed description.

Join a storyteller from the Toronto Public Library for children’s Storytime in the Park! Pick your park, Berczy or St. James, or do both! Starts July 10th to Aug 2, 2023 (4 week duration), Time: 1 PM.
